Medical Writer,
Market Access and HEOR Communications (US)

SNELL Medical Communication is presently searching for a Medical Writer to join our Market Access and HEOR team.

 

At SNELL, developing content is our core competency, and our medical writers are the pivotal experts who make every word count. The Medical Writer collaborates closely with the Vice Presidents and Executive Director of the Market Access and HEOR team to plan, develop, review, annotate, and manage scientific content for assigned accounts. This role supports a variety of therapeutic areas and produces materials tailored primarily to US payers and specialized healthcare professionals. Content is delivered through a variety of print and digital formats, including peer-reviewed publications, slide presentations, newsletters, executive summaries, eLearning platforms, and Web applications.

 

The Medical Writer will contribute to assigned projects and client interactions as appropriate and will partner with internal teams to offer support and recommendations that ensure high-quality work product aligned with client needs and SNELL standards. The desired candidate should be a leader who is highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and strategic in practice.

 

This position offers a clear path for advancement to Sr. Medical Writer or Account Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with SNELL team on planning, developing, writing, visualizing and editing materials to meet deliverable expectations

  • Produce high-quality work in partnership with Team Lead(s) and contribute to assigned projects to meet client expectations

  • Conduct research, fact check content, and secure appropriate references

  • Review and annotate content to ensure compliance with in-house, client, and/or American Medical Association (AMA) style guides

  • Assist with client regulatory submissions into content management platforms and, if appropriate, join medical, legal, and regulatory review process

  • Support client engagement by helping build confidence in SNELL's services and participating in client calls when needed

  • Apply creative and critical thinking to address challenges and propose solutions

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of industry trends, standards, key medical topics and terminology to serve as a resource to internal and client teams

  • Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and a commitment to exceptional client service, including representing SNELL at industry meetings and scientific congresses when appropriate

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, or biosciences preferred. Undergraduate degree in a related discipline with applicable combination of education and experience will be considered

  • Medical content development and writing experience required, with health outcomes and/or market access experience preferred. Approximately 2–3 years in a medical communications agency setting is ideal

  • Experience developing unbranded or branded slide decks, promotional materials, advisory board content, core claims documents, or eLearning modules

  • Strong writing skills and medical terminology knowledge, with a high level of attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and, in particular, PowerPoint

  • Strong organizational and timeline prioritization skills; scheduling flexibility to accommodate work volumes with the ability to manage multiple assignments

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Experience with content management platforms (Pubstrat, Veeva etc.) is an asset

Senior Project Manager

Location: Montreal, QC, Canada (Hybrid: remote/office)

SNELL Medical Communication is presently searching for a Montreal-based Senior Project Manager to join our growing team.

 

This position requires an experienced professional in medical communications or education who can manage a diverse portfolio of educational programs for healthcare professionals, as well as marketing support initiatives for biopharmaceutical clients.

 

Working closely with an Account Director, the Senior Project Manager should possess a strong understanding of health sciences and the confidence to interface directly with clients and medical thought leaders. Supported by internal and external resources, the Senior Project Manager acts as the central hub of a multidisciplinary SNELL team that includes medical writers, logistics specialists, creative professionals, and technical and accounting staff. Some travel may be required.

This position offers a clear path for advancement to the role of Account Director for individuals demonstrating leadership, strategic insight, and client relationship development.

​

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary liaison with clients and medical experts

  • Participate in meetings with clients and medical thought leaders

  • Contribute to strategic and tactical project planning

  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure timely project execution

  • Oversee project deliverables and ensure quality standards are met

  • Oversee submission of materials (e.g., manuscripts, slide decks, abstracts, posters, supporting documents) to clients, journals, and congresses

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and documentation

Requirements

  • University degree in a health science discipline or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of five years' experience in medical communications or medical education

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral)

  • Ability to interact confidently with clients and collaborating medical experts

  • Bilingualism (English/French, written and oral)

  • Creative, strategic thinking and problem-solving ability

  • Superior organizational skills and resourcefulness

  • Capacity to manage multiple concurrent projects

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Flexibility to travel

  • Experience in ophthalmology is an asset

  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana) is an asset

  • Experience with document management platforms (e.g., Veeva, Datavision) is an asset

  • Project management certification is an asset
